In Blogger templates a separate page has been used for posting comments on a blog. But now they have enabled an embedded comment form, which is available in all standard Blogger templates.

To use the embedded form you will need to go to the Settings>Comments page from your Dashboard and scroll down to find the “Comment Form Placement” settings and select the radio button for “Embedded below post”. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and save the new setting.

If you are using one of Bloggers templates you will now have a much neater embedded comment form. However, if you have customised your template or are using a third party template it will probably not work. You will need to add a simple line of code.

First go to Layout>Edit HTML and take the sensible precaution of clicking on “Download Full Template” in case of disasters. Then tick the “Expand Widget Templates” box and, using your browser’s Search or Find tool, look for the following line of code:

<b:include data='post' name='comments'/>

Then add the following line of code immediately below this.

<b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/>

When you have done this save your template and you should now have the embedded comment form available in your blog. Remember that the form will only show on the individual post pages and not on the Home Page of your blog.

    So far I have not been able to work out why the inverted commas are displaying like this in this post. They are perfectly alright in the other posts.

    Nazz,

    I have tried posting a comment on your blog to see if anything happens, but it will have to wait for your moderation.

    It would seem that a lot of people are having this problem and it looks like a Blogger problem. Some have said that they get their comments back if they switch to full page view. Have a look here as this blogger and her readers are experiencing it as well.

    It is worth checking all your settings just in case, but I think that the problem is probably with Blogger rather than the template. Just entering "Blogger comment problems" into Google shows that a lot of bloggers are experiencing this.

    Jeff,

    There seems to be a problem with Blogger comments suddenly not appearing on some blogs for a while. Then they come back. This has been happening for some time but I have never found anyone who has been able to say exactly why it happens or why it seems to affect some parts of the world more than others.

    When I first looked at your blog I could not see the comments but as I worked through a series of different browsers they suddenly came back. I have just checked again in Firefox 3.5 (my main browser) and the comments showed up for each post.

    It looks as if it was a temporary server glitch.

    Paul,
    thanks for checking my blog. I don't know what's happen to my blog, but it's working now... I can see the comment. :)
